The Hype About Skin So Soft Bug Guard

Discover The Difference

The Skin So Soft brand is one of Avon's staple products that was introduced in 1961. It began as a bath oil but, decades later we can enjoy it in a variety of body lotions, shower gels, washes, seasonal creams, and now as a bug repellent (Bug Guard).

The summer is here and bugs are ready to invade our space during picnics, at the swimming pool, at the beach, camping, hiking, etc.

Did you know that many Avon customers say that the Skin So Soft bath oil keeps them from getting bug bites, so they use it as a bug repellant?  This belief has some Skin So Soft customers saying that they don't need to try Skin So Soft bug repellent. They feel as though the original bath oil works fine for them; they don't believe that it is any difference. So, let me see if I can break down some of the differences.

Skin So Soft Bath Oil vs Skin So Soft Bug Guard

Skin So Soft Bath Oil
  • Avon doesn't claim that it is a bug repellant
  • Doesn't have SPF 30 protection
  • It is not registered with EPA as a bug repellant
  • Is not water resistant. (Will wipe off if you get in the pool or ocean)
  • Has a floral scent
  • Can be found in the Bath and Body section under Bath and Shower

Skin So Soft Bug Guard

  • Avon formulated it to be a bug repellant with IR3535 or Picaridin as an active ingredient (Also Deet Free)
  • Has SPF 30 protection
  • Is registered with the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) approved as a bug repellant
  • Last 8hrs and is water resistant
  • Smells like repellent
  • Can be found in the Bath and Body section under Bug repellant

Loyal Skin So Soft bath oil users may still say that the bath oil works for them as a bug repellant. They may still choose to use it as a home remedy; that's fine. Whatever one you choose to buy this summer you can be sure that Avon Skin So Soft products are the best that you can get at an affordable price.
